Fostering in the Somali community 21/02/2014 Brent Somali Community is now liaising closely with Brent’s Placements Service and Lifelong Learning in order to attract and recruit eligible Somali Foster parents. Children of all ages need fostering, from babies to teenagers and young mothers. Some may be children on their own and others may be with brothers and sisters who need to stay together. Children come from a wide range of different backgrounds and some may have special requirements. For example they may have particular dietary, cultural or religious needs. Some may have learning difficulties or other special needs. Foster children want and need the same experiences as any other child. The foster carer's role is to bring warmth, stability and continuity of care to these children’s lives. Is there room in your life for someone else’s child? Foster carers needed! Brent has over 350 children and young people in care, who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to live with their families.
